The popular video editing software Davinci Resolve has been updated to version 17.4.4. This update includes bug fixes and performance improvements. The full release notes are available on the Blackmagic Design website. Version 17.4.4 is a free update for all current Davinci Resolve users. If you’re not already using this powerful tool, it might be time to consider giving it a try!

Blackmagic Design Resolve 17 is the world’s most advanced video compositing editor, providing everything you need to create feature films, commercials and music videos. Fusion lets you create stunning visual effects and motion graphics using a true 3D workspace, combined with powerful tools for compositing, keying, painting, animation and more.

The 17.4 line also brought some notable under-the-hood improvements: on Apple’s M1 Pro and M1 Max chips, Resolve got up to five times faster, letting editors scrub through 8K timelines with as many as 12 streams playing at once. Blackmagic Design also sped up the DaVinci Neural Engine (the AI system behind facial recognition, object detection and smart reframing) by up to four times, and added direct Dropbox Replay integration for smoother review-and-approval workflows.
