The popular video editing software Davinci Resolve has been updated to version 17.4.4. This update includes bug fixes and performance improvements. The 17.4 line also brought some notable under-the-hood improvements: on Apple’s M1 Pro and M1 Max chips, Resolve got up to five times faster, letting editors scrub through 8K timelines with as many as 12 streams playing at once. Blackmagic Design also sped up the DaVinci Neural Engine u2014 the AI system behind facial recognition, object detection and smart reframing u2014 by up to four times, and added direct Dropbox Replay integration for smoother review-and-approval workflows.
