Ketchup Entertainment has dropped the final trailer for Coyote vs. Acme, the long-shelved Warner Bros. comedy that fans spent two years fighting to save from the studio vault. The nearly two-and-a-half-minute trailer leans hard into live-action-meets-animation slapstick, with John Cena’s smarmy Acme attorney squaring off against Will Forte’s down-on-his-luck lawyer, who agrees to represent Wile E. Coyote in a lawsuit over decades of faulty anvils, rockets, and catapults. Foghorn Leghorn shows up as courtroom counsel and Tweety gets a cameo, but underneath the cartoon chaos is a real courtroom-drama structure holding the whole thing together.
What Is Coyote vs. Acme About?
Directed by Dave Green from a screenplay by Samy Burch, Coyote vs. Acme follows Wile E. Coyote as he hires billboard attorney Kevin Avery (Will Forte) to sue the Acme Corporation for decades of defective products that have blown up in his face, literally. Kevin’s niece Paige (Lana Condor) gets pulled into the case, which leads back to Kevin’s smug former boss and Acme’s lead counsel, Buddy Crane, played by John Cena. Luis Guzmán presides as the trial judge, and voice actor Eric Bauza brings the rest of the Looney Tunes roster to life.

Coyote vs. Acme has one of the strangest release stories in recent Hollywood history. Warner Bros. finished the film back in 2023 but shelved it that November, reportedly to claim roughly $30 million in tax write-offs rather than release it, a decision that drew heavy public backlash from fans and filmmakers. After talks with Amazon, Netflix, and Paramount fell through, Ketchup Entertainment stepped in and acquired worldwide distribution rights for $50 million in March 2025, finally giving the film a real theatrical release.
