HBO’s Boardwalk Empire Set Build

This is the set of HBO’s new series Boardwalk Empire. I would imagine that the set will be lengthened via the use of green screen to make it look like Atlantic City during the prohibition era. This Boardwalk Empire set build shows the scale of the production: creator Terence Winter and executive producer Martin Scorsese, who directed the pilot, had a full recreation of the 1920s Atlantic City boardwalk built at Kaufman Astoria Studios in Queens, with digital set extensions filling in the rest of the period skyline.
