Oh man, I can’t wait for this movie to come out! This Transformers featurette previews Michael Bay’s 2007 original, whose robot-to-vehicle transformations were a genuine leap forward for CG at the time — ILM built each Transformer with thousands of individually animatable parts, since a convincing transformation meant every panel had to fold, rotate and lock together believably in a single continuous shot.
