This Anonymous VFX breakdown reel has got to be one of the best breakdown reels around. Anonymous (2011), directed by Roland Emmerich, needed to recreate Elizabethan-era London almost entirely digitally, from the Globe Theatre to the old St. Paul’s Cathedral and the Thames waterfront. That work fell to Uncharted Territory, the VFX studio Emmerich co-founded with longtime collaborator Volker Engel, who has supervised effects on most of Emmerich’s films going back to Independence Day.
